Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday led a massive roadshow across a dozen villages of Tarn Taran constituency in support of AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu. Accompanied by AAP leaders, cabinet ministers, and MLAs, CM Mann received a rousing welcome from thousands of residents who poured onto the streets to express their support.

Addressing enthusiastic gatherings in Kila Kavi Santokh Singh, Kot Dharam Chand Kalan, Bhojjian, Jhamke Kalan, Chakk Sikander Musse Kalan and Chhichhrewala, Mann struck an emotional chord with the people and launched a blistering attack on Akali Dal, the Badals, Majithia and Congress, accusing them of looting Punjab, spreading drugs, and destroying the future of youth.

Akalis and Congress ruined Punjab, we are rebuilding it brick by brick: Mann

CM Mann said Tarn Taran had suffered deeply in dark times and due to the negligence of previous governments. “This region faced pain and despair for decades. The earlier rulers only filled their own houses while our people struggled without schools, colleges, or hospitals. They kept our youth enslaved to drugs,” said Mann. “Now the people have the chance to choose their own representatives and rebuild their own future.”

He announced that his government has already given 56,856 government jobs without bribes or recommendations, provided 600 units of free power, ensured daytime electricity for farmers, and started restoring education and healthcare across Punjab.

Harsimrat say during their (Akali) rule no one knew the word ‘chitta’, that’s true, because back then it was called ‘Majithia’: Mann

In a sharp attack on Akali leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Mann mocked her claim that drugs didn’t exist under the Akali regime. “She’s right, people didn’t know the name ‘chitta’ because back then it was called 'Majithia pudi and Majithia teeka'. The very people responsible for this menace are now trying to lecture us about morality and saving Punjab,” Mann said.

He reminded people that the AAP government filed a 40,000-page challan in court against Majithia, proving the party’s firm resolve to fight the drug mafia. “Those who distributed chitta are now facing the law, while we are giving jobs, schools and hospitals to your children,” he said.

Our fight is to make Punjab, Punjab again — not California or London

Mann said his vision is to make Punjab self-reliant and prosperous through education, employment and good governance. “Our youth don’t need to run abroad. I want to take syringes out of their hands and give them lunchboxes instead, so they go to work in the morning and return home to their families in the evening,” he said.

Mann announced that soon the AAP government will start giving ₹1,000 per month to all women, fulfilling another of its guarantees.

Elect leaders who know your pain, not those who trade your children’s future for power: Mann

Taking a dig at both Akali and Congress leaders, Mann said, “People had to count their fingers after shaking hands with them because you never knew what they would steal next. They used religion, caste, and fear to divide Punjab, while we are uniting it through development.”

Mann recalled that Congress had even rolled tanks onto the sacred Sikh shrines, saying their hands were “stained with the blood of Punjabis.” He added, “We are the followers of Baba Nanak, whose scales said ‘Tera Tera’, but the Badals’ scales always said ‘Mera Mera’.”

Mann urged the people to vote massively for Harmeet Singh Sandhu (AAP), button number 3 on voting machine, to ensure that Tarn Taran’s development continues. “Your vote on November 11 is not just a vote, it’s your mandate for your children’s future. We’ve already begun transforming Punjab; now we must ensure this region becomes number one in education, employment, and infrastructure,” he said.

The Chief Minister praised Sandhu as a “leader of the people” and called on voters to ensure his victory by a huge margin. “Other parties have nothing to offer, so they are doing petty politics. But we are here to deliver, schools, colleges, hospitals, roads, factories, and opportunities for every household,” Mann declared.

Harmeet Singh Sandhu thanked the people of Tarn Taran for their overwhelming response to the Chief Minister’s roadshow and pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen the Mann government’s vision for a prosperous Punjab.
