Congress’ Anti-Sikh Mindset Exposed Again: AAP Demands Immediate Expulsion of Harak Singh Rawat

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab General Secretary and Media In-charge Baltej Pannu strongly condemned the latest derogatory remark made by Congress’ Uttarakhand leader Harak Singh Rawat, calling it yet another reflection of the Congress party’s deep-rooted anti-Sikh mindset.
Addressing a press conference, Pannu said that some Congress leaders carry a “heap of garbage” in their minds, which resurfaces through hateful comments from time to time. He reminded that Congress’ history with Punjab and Sikhs has always been painful, from the SYL betrayal, to the injustices leading up to 1982, Operation Blue Star in 1984, and the Sikh genocide in Delhi, the party’s record is filled with wounds that the Sikh community continues to carry.
Pannu recalled that just days ago, Punjab Congress President Raja Warring mocked a Sikh boys with Joora during the Tarn Taran by-poll campaign. Instead of apologising sincerely, Congress leadership remained silent. “Today, Harak Singh Rawat has repeated the same hatred by making a shameful ‘12 baj gaye’ remark about Sikhs,” he said.
Explaining the historical significance, Pannu stated that the phrase “12 o’clock” symbolises the bravery of Sikhs who launched night raids against drunken Mughal forces to rescue kidnapped daughters of the nation. “Congress leaders are ignorant of history and trivialise Sikh sacrifices,” he said.
AAP demanded that Rahul Gandhi immediately expel Harak Singh Rawat and apologise to the Sikh community. Pannu also asked Punjab Congress leaders Raja Warring, Pratap Singh Bajwa, and all their half a dozen CM aspirants to clarify their stand.
He said Punjab has always rejected hate politics. “Punjab’s soil grows every crop, but hatred does not grow here,” Pannu concluded, warning Congress to stop sowing seeds of division.
