Court Issues Arrest Warrant Against Bikram Majithia’s Brother-in-Law

Punjab (The Uttam Hindu): A major development has emerged in the disproportionate assets case linked to former cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia. A special court has issued an arrest warrant against Majithia’s brother-in-law, Gajpat Singh Grewal. The order was passed on the basis of a Vigilance Bureau report and an application submitted in court.
According to Vigilance officials, Grewal’s role was found suspicious during the investigation, and his name was later added to the FIR. Investigating officer Inspector Inderpal Singh informed the court that multiple notices were sent to Grewal, but he neither appeared for questioning nor cooperated in the probe.
The Vigilance Bureau alleges that Grewal helped accumulate and conceal Majithia’s alleged illegal properties. After reviewing the case records and hearing the arguments, Special Judge Nitika Verma approved the issuance of the arrest warrant. The warrant is returnable on November 29, 2025.
It is noteworthy that Bikram Majithia is already under Vigilance scrutiny in the disproportionate assets case. According to the agency, Majithia allegedly amassed around ₹700 crore in assets by legitimising earnings connected to the 2013 drug network.
