Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): Komal Sharma, the elder sister of Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma, tied the knot with businessman Lavish Oberoi today, October 3, 2025. The wedding ceremony took place according to Punjabi customs. Komal expressed her emotions after the wedding, saying she missed her brother a lot on her special day. The Laavan Phere ceremony took place at Gurudwara Baba Shri Chand Ji Tahli Sahib near Verka Bypass, while the wedding was held at Festin Resort in Amritsar.

Interestingly, Abhishek Sharma wasn't present at his sister's wedding as he is currently on national duty, playing an unofficial ODI against Australia A in Kanpur. His performance in this match could significantly impact his selection for the upcoming series against Australia, which starts on October 19th. India will play three ODIs and five T20 matches in the tour, and a strong showing could earn Abhishek spots in both the T20 and ODI squads.

The wedding celebrations seemed to be a grand affair, with Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in attendance to bless the newlyweds.
