Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A detailed discussion on Bharatiya Shiksha Drishti was held at the auditorium of DAV University, where Deshraj, National General Secretary of Vidya Bharati, highlighted the importance of an education system rooted in Indian values, culture and holistic development. He said that the Indian vision of education goes beyond the colonial mindset and focuses on a balanced approach combining knowledge, skills and cultural awareness.

Deshraj emphasized that education is not limited to securing employment but also teaches the art of living. He explained that the Indian education system is based on the Panchakosha model, which promotes the overall development of body, mind, intellect, energy and soul, contributing to the vision of a self reliant India.


He further stated that the aim of Bharatiya Shiksha Drishti is to instill values, ethics and a sense of national interest among students. He noted that this vision is in line with the National Education Policy 2020, which promotes skill based learning and holistic growth instead of rote memorization.

Highlighting the role of education in society, he said it helps build responsibility, respect for labour and awareness against social evils. He also stressed the importance of mother tongue in shaping a strong and cultured society. The program was attended by several dignitaries including university officials and members of Vidya Bharati.
