Dozens of youth leaders quit Akali Dal and join Aam Aadmi Party; receive warm welcome from senior AAP leadership

Tarn Taran(The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received a major boost in Tarn Taran ahead of the by-election as dozens of youth leaders from Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) joined the party on Friday. Their joining marks a growing trend of young and energetic leaders choosing AAP’s honest and progressive politics over traditional parties.
AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi, Cabinet Ministers Laljit Singh Bhullar and Hardeep Singh Mundian, Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat, MLAs Devinder Singh Laddi Dhos and Rupinder Singh Happy, and senior AAP leader Gurdev Singh Lakhna welcomed the new entrants into the AAP family. MC Narinder Singh Nagi and Vijay Gill played a key role in facilitating this joining.
The new joinees include Jaspreet Singh, Gurmel Singh, Manpreet Singh, Manjot Singh, Karanpreet Singh, Sonu, Billu, Jaideep Singh, Gurnam Singh, Amandeep Singh, Daljit Singh, Avtar Singh, Khushpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Happy, and Gurmehar Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, AAP Working President Sherry Kalsi said, “In AAP, you don’t need anyone’s favour or recommendation. If you work hard, you get recognition, respect, and a platform to serve the people. This is the only party that truly rewards merit and commitment.”
Cabinet Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said, “AAP is the only party that gives real opportunities to young people. Many of our MLAs, ministers, and chairpersons are youth leaders who rose purely on the basis of their hard work. Every day, hundreds of new people are joining Harmeet Singh Sandhu’s campaign in the Tarn Taran by-election, reflecting the growing faith of the public in AAP’s politics of honesty and development.”
Ministers Hardeep Singh Mundian and Chairman Harchand Singh Barsat also welcomed the new members and said, “The people of Tarn Taran have witnessed the remarkable work done by the Bhagwant Mann government over the past three and a half years. They will support only the AAP candidate who stands for progress, transparency, and good governance.”
The joining of these young leaders has further strengthened AAP’s campaign in Tarn Taran, signalling a clear shift of public sentiment towards the party of development and integrity.
