Dr. Ajay Sharma nominated to Hindi Advisory Committee of Ministry of Women and Child Development

Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu) : The city's renowned Hindi litterateur Dr. Ajay Sharma has been nominated as a member of the Hindi Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. His appointment has been made for three years.
Dr. Sharma is the only litterateur to be included in the committee from all over Punjab. This committee has been reconstituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development on the recommendation of the Official Language Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs. The main function of the committee will be to give advice regarding the effective implementation of the Official Language Policy of the Government of India in the Ministry and to contribute to other activities related to it.
This committee will be chaired by the Union Minister of Women and Child Development, while the Minister of State will be the Vice-Chairman. A total of 29 members from across the country have been included in it.
Dr. Ajay Sharma's literary achievements are also noteworthy. Recently his novel "Basra Ki Galiyan" of Guru Kashi University MA has been included in the syllabus. This is his seventh novel which has got a place in the curriculum of various universities. This novel alone has been included in the M.A. curriculum of three different universities, which is a unique achievement.
So far he has written 17 novels, 6 plays and a story collection. His seven novels are included in the curriculum of various universities and many of his works have been translated into various languages of the country. He has also received the highest literary honour of the Punjab Government, 'Shiromani Sahityakaar Award', 'Sahitya Saurabh Samman' of the Uttar Pradesh Government, and the National Award of the Central Hindi Directorate.
Expressing happiness over his appointment, Dr. Ajay Sharma said, "This is an honour as well as a responsibility for me. I will make every effort to strengthen Hindi language and literature further and contribute to the policies of the Ministry."
