Farmer Leader Sarwan Singh Pandher Announces Continued Protests, Plans to Surround AAP Ministers' Houses

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has reaffirmed that the farmers' movement will persist, and their desire to march to Delhi remains strong. Following his release, Pandher announced that on March 31, the houses of AAP ministers in Punjab will be surrounded as part of their ongoing protests.
Pandher, alongside 14 other leaders, visited Jagjit Singh Dallewal in a Patiala hospital after his release. Dallewal, who has been on a hunger strike for 123 days, ended his fast by drinking water and starting medical treatment. His condition remains critical, and farmer leaders are concerned over the government’s actions, calling them undemocratic and unethical.
Pandher accused the Haryana government, under central government influence, of blocking farmers at the Khanauri and Shambhu borders, which led to protests. He also claimed that the Punjab government detained farmers returning from talks on March 19.
In jail, Pandher alleged that drug abuse was prevalent in Patiala prison, highlighting discrepancies in the government's anti-drug efforts.
Farmer leaders also raised concerns over the theft of goods at the Shambhu and Datasinghwala-Khanauri Kisan Morchas, blaming the state government for failing to protect farmers' property.
The farmers' movement is set to continue, with protests and actions intensifying in the coming days.
