Harmeet Singh Sandhu slams SAD-BJP and Congress for spreading drugs in Punjab and protecting drug mafia

Tarn Taran(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab's Tarn Taran By-election candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu launched a scathing attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP and Congress, accusing them of being the real culprits behind Punjab’s drug crisis. Sandhu said that both parties protected drug mafias for years and destroyed the future of Punjab’s youth for their personal political gains.
“Punjab was pushed into darkness by the chacha-bhatija (Captain Amarinder Singh–Bikram Majithia) and jija-sala (Sukhbir Badal–Majithia) regimes,” said Sandhu. “While they ruled the state alternately, they worked hand in glove with drug smugglers. Their politics thrived on the pain of our youth and the tears of thousands of families devastated by addiction.”
He added that the people of Punjab will never forgive those who turned villages into graveyards of lost dreams. “Instead of breaking the drug network, they became its protectors. From ministers to MLA, everyone in their governments was part of this rotten nexus,” Sandhu said.
Praising the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government, Sandhu said, “For the first time, Punjab is witnessing a genuine and unprecedented war against drugs. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has shown that with honest intention and strong political will, even the biggest menace can be defeated. Today, hundreds of peddlers and smugglers are behind bars, and the drug mafia is running scared.”
Sandhu appealed to the people of Tarn Taran to support AAP in the upcoming by-election and strengthen CM Mann’s mission for a drug-free Punjab. “Our fight is not just political, it’s for saving the lives and futures of our children. Only AAP has the courage and commitment to end this evil once and for all,” he said.
