Patiala (The Uttam Hindu): In a disturbing revelation from Patiala, Punjab, the Health Department has sealed 450 kg of paneer from a local factory suspected of adulteration and unhygienic practices. This raid follows a similar incident in Mohali, where food items were found being prepared in unsanitary conditions.

The raid occurred on Thursday when the Health Department, led by Dr. Navinder Singh, and the Municipal Corporation's Health Branch, led by Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, inspected a factory owned by Paramjit Singh in Jhil Avenue. The factory, located in a residential area, was found to be producing paneer in unclean conditions. The factory also lacked a valid trade license, and pollution from its boiler was affecting the area.

During the raid, three samples of paneer were collected for testing, and the factory owner was fined for operating without a license and causing pollution. Dr. Kaur emphasized that food adulteration would not be tolerated, and further action will be based on the test results. If the paneer samples fail, the factory will be sealed, and strict legal action will be taken against the owner.
