Heroin Worth Rs 80 Crore Seized in Amritsar, Accused Arrested with Drone-Smuggled Consignment

Amritsar(The Uttam Hindu): In a significant breakthrough, the Narcotics Task Force (NTF) has seized heroin worth Rs 80 crore in Amritsar's Cheharta area. Prabhjeet Singh, a resident of village Mode, Halqa Attari, was arrested with 15.4 kg of heroin. The consignment is suspected to have been imported from Pakistan via drone.
The value of the seized heroin in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 80 crore. According to the information, the arrested accused was going towards Amritsar in a Swift car carrying heroin imported from Pakistan via drone. On the way, the police stopped the car and recovered a huge amount of heroin during the search. Currently, the police is interrogating the accused and is trying to connect the links of the network.
The NTF is interrogating Prabhjeet Singh to unravel the network behind the smuggling operation. Authorities are working to identify the source of the heroin and the intended recipient. This seizure is part of the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Punjab.
