'I bow to the land of Punjab', PM Modi bows down at Dera Sachkhand Ballan, renames Adampur airport

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 649th birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Ravidas Ji in Jalandhar, Punjab. During the ceremony, he said, "Today is the sacred date of Magh Purnima. This is the auspicious occasion of the 649th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. I have the privilege of being among you all on this auspicious occasion. From this sacred platform, I salute Shri Guru Ravidas Ji and wish you and all my countrymen a happy Sant Ravidas Jayanti and Magh Purnima."
He said, "You all know that I have a connection to Kashi, the birthplace of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji. The people of Kashi have blessed me, and I have had the privilege of serving Kashi as an MP. Whenever I visit Seer Govardhanpur, I have the good fortune of meeting a large number of brothers and sisters from Punjab. This time, I have come to the heroic land of Punjab, the inspirational land of Saint Ravidas Ji. I believe this is Shri Guru Ravidas Ji's wish and I am very fortunate. I express my gratitude to Dera Sachkhand Balla for inviting me to this event."
He said that Dera Sachkhand Ballan's work in the field of social service has been commendable. Numerous works related to education and health are being carried out continuously under the guidance of revered Saint Shri Niranjan Das Ji Maharaj. Under his leadership, the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji have also been spread in many countries around the world. To honor this contribution, our BJP-led central government recently honored revered Saint Shri Niranjan Das Ji Maharaj with the Padma Award. On this occasion, I respectfully salute him.
The Prime Minister said that the path of service shown to us by Sant Ravidas Ji has been further energized by this inspiration. I sincerely thank all of you for this affection. A short while ago, Adampur Airport was renamed after Sant Ravidas Ji. Adampur Airport will now be known as Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji Airport. Additionally, the new terminal building at Halwara Airport was inaugurated.
He said, "I am confident that with the blessings of Saint Ravidas Ji, we will certainly achieve the goal of a developed India. The country's budget was presented in Parliament this morning. This budget further empowers the poor, the farmers, the youth, and the women. This budget strengthens villages. This budget increases farmers' income. This budget promotes a self-reliant India and Make in India."
He said that many medicines have been made cheaper in the last 11 years. Free treatment facilities have been provided to the poor and elderly. This budget has taken more important decisions with this same sensitivity. To further make cancer treatment more affordable, several cancer medicines have been further reduced.
He said that another historic step has been taken, injecting new energy into the country's economy. A trade deal has been agreed upon between India and the European Union. It is being widely discussed worldwide today. Following this trade deal, our trade with 27 European countries will flourish. He added that Punjab is known for its skilled youth. The trade deal will greatly benefit our brothers and sisters in Punjab. Millions of people are engaged in the textile industry in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, and Amritsar. Now, Punjab's textile sector will gain new and larger markets.
