Jalandhar blast kills one, body parts scattered; city in shock

Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu) : A powerful explosion rocked a scrap warehouse in the Santokhpura area of Jalandhar, Punjab. One person died on the spot, while two others were seriously injured. The blast was so powerful that it shattered windows in nearby houses, and the sound could be heard up to a kilometer away.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police from Station 8 arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and began an investigation. The deceased has been identified as Shivmangal, a resident of Balrampur district in Uttar Pradesh, who lived in a rented house in the Santokhpura area. According to police, the explosion was so powerful that body parts of the deceased fell onto the roofs of nearby houses.
The cause of the blast is still unclear. Locals say the explosion may have been caused by a gas cylinder, while others suspect a suspicious object or explosive in a scrap warehouse may have caused the accident. Police are investigating all aspects.
Jogi, a resident of Kishanpura, who witnessed the incident, said he was passing by at the time of the blast. Suddenly, a loud noise was heard, prompting panicked people to rush to the scene. He said the explosion was so powerful that it felt like a bomb blast.
Both individuals injured in the blast were immediately admitted to Civil Hospital, Jalandhar, where their condition is being monitored. Locals say the blast shook the walls of nearby houses, creating panic in the area. Police have increased vigilance in the area until the investigation is complete.
