Jalandhar Official M.T.P. Sukdev Vashisht Arrested by Vigilance in Major Scam

Jalandhar(The Uttam Hindu): In a significant development, MTP Sukdev Vashisht, an official with the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation, has been arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in connection with a large-scale scam. The officer is accused of colluding with certain politicians to execute fraudulent activities. Following the allegations, the Vigilance team conducted a raid at the Municipal Corporation and apprehended Vashisht.

Sources confirm that the raid took place in the afternoon, with Vashisht being interrogated for an extended period by Assistant Vigilance Officer (ATP) in a closed room. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge soon.

Reports suggest that Sukdev Vashisht had close ties with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Raman Arora. Arora, who recently had his security withdrawn by the Punjab government, is said to have been a key figure in Vashisht's network. The timing of Vashisht's arrest is notable, as it came immediately after the withdrawal of Arora’s security.

The arrest has raised questions about the involvement of political figures in the alleged scam, and the Vigilance Bureau is expected to conduct further inquiries into the matter.
