Kapurthala Police Busts Weapon Supply Chain Linked to Jagga Fukiwal Gang; Two Arrested

Kapurthala (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Police has achieved another significant success in its campaign to dismantle illegal weapons networks. The Sadar Police of Kapurthala district arrested Amandeep Singh alias Aman, the main weapon supplier for the notorious Jagga Fukiwal extortion gang active in the Sultanpur Lodhi region. Several country-made pistols were recovered from his possession.
This action was carried out under a special drive launched on the instructions of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav. According to an official statement released through the DGP’s ‘X’ handle, Amandeep played a key role in supplying weapons used for firing incidents and extortion by the gang.
During interrogation, Amandeep revealed that he had supplied two pistols to his associate, Lovepreet alias Baba. Acting swiftly, the police conducted raids and arrested Lovepreet as well. From his possession, one .32-bore and one .315-bore country-made pistol along with two live cartridges were recovered.
In a surprising discovery, police found three more country-made pistols buried underground during a search at Amandeep’s residence. With this, a total of nine illegal pistols have been recovered so far. An FIR has been registered under various sections of the Arms Act at Sadar Police Station, Kapurthala.
Punjab Police has been running a wide campaign against illegal weapons for the past month, resulting in the recovery of hundreds of pistols and cartridges. The DGP stated on X that the commitment to make Punjab free from gangsters and illegal weapons remains firm.
Sources also noted that this arrest will directly impact several gangs operating in the Kapurthala and Jalandhar regions, as Amandeep was a major source of weapons for them. More major revelations are likely in the coming days.
