Khattar's shameful statement is not just an attack on Baba Saheb, but a direct assault on the Constitution and the dignity of the Dalit community: Anurag Dhanda

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Anurag Dhanda, senior leader and national media in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party, said that the things said by Union Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar about Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar are intolerable under any circumstances. Khattar's statement is not just the statement of one leader, but exposes the root of the BJP's anti-Dalit mindset and hatred. The attempt to belittle Baba Saheb as the architect of the Constitution is a direct insult to the Dalit community.

He said that the BJP's history is replete with insults to Baba Saheb and the Dalit community. Ambedkar was mocked in Parliament by calling him a trend. An attempt was made to reject the Constitution he created by talking about changing it. A campaign was launched to defame a judge from the Dalit community by attacking him. Now, Khattar has repeated the same filthy thinking by questioning Baba Saheb's role.

Anurag Dhanda said that Khattar's thinking is extremely vile and filled with hatred. During his tenure as Chief Minister of Haryana, he made every effort to weaken, divide and eliminate the rights of the Dalit community. Now, by commenting on Baba Saheb, he has exposed his narrow-mindedness and the BJP's hateful ideology.

Anurag Dhanda said that the Aam Aadmi Party demands that Union Minister Khattar immediately apologize for his statement. If the BJP agrees with Khattar's statement, it will become clear that the BJP is openly against Dalits and Baba Saheb Ambedkar. No one can belittle Baba Saheb. He was, is and will always be the architect of the Constitution. Leaders like Khattar are merely trying to belittle their own thinking.
