Major incident in Dinanagar: ASI and Home Guard jawan shot dead at police checkpoint

Dinanagar (The Uttam Hindu): Unknown assailants shot dead ASI Gurnam Singh and Home Guard jawan Ashok Kumar, who were on duty, last night near Adiyan village in Dorangala police station area, near Dinanagar, a border area of Punjab.

Local villagers became aware of the incident in the morning when they found the bodies of the two soldiers at the checkpoint. According to police, the attack occurred late at night and the attackers did not give the two soldiers a chance.

Being located in a border area, security is usually tight. Upon receiving information about the incident, senior district officials arrived at the scene with a heavy police force. A forensic team has also been called in to investigate the matter, and an investigation of the entire scene has begun.
