Major setback for BJP ahead of Tarn Taran by-election! Hundreds of BJP leaders join AAP

Tarn Taran(The Uttam Hindu): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received a major boost in Tarn Taran as several office-bearers and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) joined AAP. AAP Punjab Working President Amansher Singh ‘Sherry’ Kalsi, in the presence of State General Secretary Dr. S.S. Ahluwalia, inducted all the leaders into the party.
Addressing a press conference in Tarn Taran, MLA Sherry Kalsi said that under the leadership of Sarpanch Tehal Veer Singh, senior BJP leader Kashmir Singh (alias Bau Ji), Randhir Singh of village Palaser, Tarseem Singh Lambardar, Bhupinder Singh, and Chhinder Singh, along with a large number of BJP leaders and workers, have rejected the BJP’s policies and joined AAP. He said these leaders have joined the party being impressed by the pro-people work being done by the Bhagwant Mann-led government.

Sherry Kalsi said that the Aam Aadmi Party is the only political party that believes in performance-based politics. “Whatever guarantees we announced, we have fulfilled them, whereas previous governments only made false promises,” he said. The AAP government has delivered on historic initiatives such as 600 units of free electricity, ₹1 crore honorarium for martyrs, one pension per MLA, Mohalla Clinics, and Schools of Eminence.
Sharing details about upcoming events, Sherry Kalsi informed that a grand roadshow in support of AAP candidate Harmeet Sandhu will be held at Bodiwala, Tarn Taran, on October 17 at 10 a.m. The roadshow will be led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and senior leader Manish Sisodia. The entire senior leadership of the party, along with village sarpanches, members, and workers of the constituency, will participate. He further informed that on the same day, candidate Harmeet Sandhu will also file his nomination papers.
The AAP leader asserted that the people of Tarn Taran are completely satisfied with the work of the AAP government, and in the coming days, even bigger names will be joining the party.
