Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate from Tarn Taran Assembly constituency, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, has lauded the decision of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji with utmost reverence and devotion. He said that the AAP Government is fully committed not only to the development of Punjab but also to preserve the state’s rich religious heritage and culture.
Harmeet Singh Sandhu said it is a matter of great pride that under the supervision of Minister for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Tarunpreet Singh Sond, the Mann Government is organizing four grand Nagar Kirtans across Punjab to spread the message of Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice. He specifically mentioned that on November 20, the Nagar Kirtan on the Majha-Doaba route, which will begin from Gurdaspur, will pass through Batala, Baba Bakala, and Sri Amritsar Sahib before reaching the holy land of Tarn Taran.
Sandhu said it is a matter of great fortune for the people of his constituency that this sacred Nagar Kirtan will pass through their city. He said that previous governments always played with people’s religious sentiments, but the AAP Government, soon after coming to power, ensured that the martyrdom days of the revered Gurus are observed with devotion.
He folded his hands and appealed to the entire Sangat of Tarn Taran constituency to participate enthusiastically in this historic Nagar Kirtan arriving in Tarn Taran on November 20, to offer their devotion to Guru Sahib and to become a part of this noble initiative of the AAP Government. He added that the people of Tarn Taran will endorse the AAP Government’s faith-driven and people-oriented agenda and strengthen the hands of the Mann Government by ensuring victory in the by-election.
