Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Now, no factory in Punjab will be stuck waiting for electricity, nor will any farmer be left in the dark. Every household will have 24-hour electricity, and that too at affordable rates. Fulfilling his promise, Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched the Roshan Punjab Scheme, which aims to end the problem of power outages in Punjab and provide 24-hour uninterrupted and affordable electricity in the state.

The government has invested ₹5,000 crore to strengthen the power system and meet future needs. This is the largest expenditure in the power sector in Punjab's history. This is not just a scheme, but a mission to illuminate every home, every farm, and every industry in Punjab. Its aim is to revitalize the entire power system so that every village and every city can access uninterrupted electricity. To further strengthen the power system across Punjab, new substations are being built, old ones are being repaired, and new cables are being laid. These improvements will provide relief to residents from voltage issues, reduce power outages, and ensure faster power restoration in case of outages.

A special project has been initiated in 13 municipal corporations to improve safety and cleanliness in urban areas. Under this project, non-electrical wires are being removed from PSPCL poles, overhanging lines are being repaired, and open meter boxes are being closed, ensuring a safe and clean environment for residents. These improvements will provide relief to residents from voltage issues, reduce power outages, and ensure faster power restoration in case of outages.

The purpose of the 'Roshan Punjab' scheme:

The primary objective of the 'Roshan Punjab' scheme is to provide reliable, affordable, and uninterrupted power to the public. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that this isn't just about electricity, but the foundation of Punjab's bright future. Now, every home, every farm, and every industry in Punjab will truly be illuminated; this is the dream of "Bright Punjab. (Advertorial)
