Model playgrounds to be built in 20 villages of Tarn Taran constituency; AAP government transforming rural Punjab: Harmeet Singh Sandhu

Tarn Taran(The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Tarn Taran, Harmeet Singh Sandhu, today hailed the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government for its historic push towards rural transformation through the Rural Resurgence Project, under which 3,100 Model Playgrounds are being developed across the state.
Highlighting the project’s scale and vision, Sandhu said the ₹1,194 crore initiative aims to promote sports, youth engagement, and drug prevention while fostering a vibrant, community-driven Punjab. “This is not just about building playgrounds, it is about giving our children a healthy future, our youth a positive purpose, and our villages a sense of pride,” he said.
Under this project, 138 model playgrounds will be constructed in Tarn Taran district, with every major block benefiting significantly. Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency villages will have 20 playgrounds.
“These 138 modern playgrounds, including 20 in Tarn Taran Constituency, will be a major development benefitting the rural youth,” said Sandhu. “From inclusive play areas for children and toilets for women to flood-lit facilities for evening play and sports infrastructure for football and volleyball, every detail reflects the Mann Government’s commitment to inclusivity, safety, and community development.”
He added that these playgrounds are designed as centres of youth activity, aligning with CM Bhagwant Mann’s vision to build a drug-free Punjab under the ‘Nashe De Virudh’ campaign. “By providing our youth opportunities for sports, the AAP government is tackling the root causes of addiction, idleness and lack of engagement,” Sandhu stated.
Concluding his remarks, Harmeet Singh Sandhu appealed to the people of Tarn Taran to come forward in large numbers on November 11 and vote for Aam Aadmi Party. “Every vote for AAP is a vote for progress, honesty, and a better future. Strengthen the hands of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and let’s continue building a new, vibrant, and prosperous Punjab together,” he said.
