'Nasha Mukti Yatra' Day 4: AAP Ministers and MLAs Intensify Anti-Drug Campaign in Villages

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): The 'Nasha Mukti Yatra' led by AAP MLAs, ministers, and leaders entered its fourth day, continuing the fight against drugs across Punjab. For four days straight, AAP leaders have been on the ground, tirelessly campaigning to free Punjab from the grip of drugs.
On Wednesday, AAP ministers and MLAs, joined by constituency in-charges, local leaders, and party workers, visited villages across Punjab. They held drug-awareness programs to educate people about the dangers of addiction and the importance of a drug-free future.
On Wednesday, the campaign reached over 200 villages across Punjab’s assembly constituencies, igniting visible enthusiasm among the villagers. Thousands of residents voluntarily joined AAP leaders and workers, voicing their strong support for the government’s anti-drug initiative.
During the drug-awareness programs, AAP leaders administered oaths to attendees, urging them to refrain from drugs, boycott drug traffickers, and avoid extending any assistance to those involved in drug peddling.
Local residents and village sarpanches assured the MLAs and ministers that they would fully support the Mann government’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign and work to eradicate drugs from their villages completely. Many village panchayats declared their villages drug-free during Wednesday’s campaign.
While interacting with the media during the campaign, an AAP leader stated that there is no longer any place for drugs or drug traffickers in Punjab. The AAP government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann have made it clear that drug dealers must either quit their trade or leave Punjab. Failure to choose either option would result in jail time.
An AAP leader revealed that over the past two months, approximately 10,000 drug traffickers have been arrested and sent to jail. FIRs have been registered against more than 5,000 individuals. Thousands of kilograms of drugs, including heroin, opium, cannabis, and bhukki, have been seized. The crackdown is ongoing and will continue. No person involved in the drug trade will be spared, and strict legal action will be taken against all. The AAP government is committed to making Punjab a drug-free state.
