Amritsar (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab government’s crackdown on drug smugglers continues with full force. In the latest action, authorities have demolished the house of a drug smuggler in Amritsar’s Gujjarpura area. The house belonged to Ajay Kumar, also known as "Billi," a known drug trafficker. Ajay Kumar’s mother, Parmjeet Kaur, spoke to the media, claiming that the house was built using money from her husband's retirement savings. She said, *"My son has not lived in this house for many years. I have no connection with him, yet the police demolished my house. I pleaded with the authorities, but no one listened."*

Providing details about the case, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar stated that Ajay has five cases registered against him under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. He is currently out on bail but has been declared an absconder by the court. Bhullar further explained that the demolition was carried out as per the orders of the municipal corporation, and the police are actively searching for the drug trafficker.

The Punjab government and police have made it clear that drug smugglers will not be spared. Authorities have warned that if they do not quit drug trafficking, strict action will be taken against them. The crackdown on drug traffickers continues across Punjab, with the administration regularly demolishing properties linked to such criminals.
