Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Floods in many districts of Punjab have destroyed the crops and houses of the farmers. According to information received from sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit many flood affected states including Punjab.

According to the information, this visit will be made before the central assistance so that the Prime Minister himself can inspect the flood affected areas and assess the situation. The recent severe floods in Punjab have caused widespread devastation, due to which many people have lost their lives and homes. This visit is expected to speed up relief and rehabilitation work in the affected areas. The Prime Minister's visit will also increase the confidence of the affected people about getting immediate assistance from the government.

It is worth noting that PM Modi had recently spoken to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann after returning from his visit to Japan and China. The central government is continuously providing assistance to the affected states in relief and rescue operations. It is worth noting that the death toll due to floods in Punjab has risen to 43. At the same time, more than 2000 villages in Punjab have been submerged in floods.
