Panic in Punjab as multiple schools in this district receive bomb threats, email warns of blasts by 1 pm

Patiala (The Uttam Hindu): Panic spread across Patiala district on Tuesday after several prominent schools received bomb threats through a suspicious email. As soon as school authorities read the message, they immediately alerted the administration, triggering swift action by the police.
The threatening email made an alarming claim, stating that bomb blasts would take place in the schools between 9 am and 1 pm. Keeping student safety in mind, some schools declared immediate holidays and informed parents to take their children home. The situation created chaos and fear inside school premises.
Taking charge of the situation, Patiala SSP Varun Sharma said the matter has been taken seriously and multiple police teams have been deployed for a thorough investigation. Security has been tightened at the affected schools, with strict surveillance in place.
The cyber cell has also been activated to trace the origin of the email. Authorities are examining whether the threat is genuine or the act of a mischief-maker. Police have assured parents and school managements that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure safety.
