Photos of Rana Balachauria’s killers surface, murder carried out with planning; several people involved in recce

Mohali (The Uttam Hindu): Photos of the two shooters involved in the murder of kabaddi player and promoter Rana Balachauria in Sohana, Mohali, have surfaced. The accused have been identified as Aditya Kapoor and Karan Pathak. Police investigations indicate that the killing was executed with prior planning. Officials believe that apart from the shooters, several other individuals were involved in tracking Rana’s movements and providing continuous inputs during the tournament.

Mohali police said the murder was carried out despite police security at the tournament venue, pointing to a well-organised conspiracy. So far, the identities of the two shooters have been confirmed. Police are now searching for a third accomplice and those who provided logistical support for the crime.

In a significant revelation, police said there is suspicion that Rana Balachauria had links with notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria. This is believed to be the reason he came under the radar of the Bambiha gang. The investigation is still ongoing, and police have indicated that more important disclosures are likely in the coming days.
