PM Modi Announced 11-Point Plan Relief Package for Punjab

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of Punjab and assessed the disaster by holding a meeting with officials and affected people in Gurdaspur.
Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab welcomed the 11-point package announced by Prime Minister Modi for Punjab.
Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar and Acting State President Ashwani Sharma both thanked Prime Minister Modi wholeheartedly for standing with Punjab in the time of disaster and helping the affected people.
The Prime Minister has already announced that the Central Government will work shoulder to shoulder with the people in this hour of grief and difficulty.
The announcements made by the Prime Minister for Punjab are as follows:
👉 Announcement of financial relief amount of Rs 1600 crore for Punjab
âž– This amount will be separate from the amount of Rs 12,000 crore already sent to the state government.
👉 *Second installment of State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) and Kisan Samman Nidhi will be released in advance*
👉 Under the multi-dimensional scheme, reconstruction of houses from Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, repair of national highways, reconstruction of schools, arrangement of mini kits for animals and relief will be given from PMNRF fund.
👉 Keeping in view the need of farmer brothers, farmers who currently lack electricity connection will be given additional assistance.
👉 Keeping in mind the special proposal of the state government, assistance will be given under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) for the renovation of borewells which have been filled with water or washed away.
👉 Facility will be provided for diesel-run bore pumps, solar panels in coordination with MNRE and assistance will be given for micro irrigation under the 'Per Drop More Crop' guidelines.
👉 Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Gramin, financial assistance will be given to eligible families whose houses have been destroyed in floods under the "Special Project" presented by the Punjab Government for reconstruction of houses in rural areas.
👉 Financial assistance will be given to government schools recently damaged by floods in Punjab under the 'Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan'. The state government has to provide all the necessary details as per the guidelines.
👉 Under the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Program, extensive construction of recharge structures will be done for saving water in Punjab. The objective will be to repair damaged recharge structures and create new structures for storing excess water.
👉 The Prime Minister announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh per person to the families of those who lost their lives during the floods and Rs 50,000 for the treatment of the seriously injured.
👉 Assistance will be provided under the Pradhan Mantri Child Care Scheme for the care of children orphaned during the floods.
