Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu) – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Punjab this week. He will arrive in Jalandhar on February 1st, where he will pay obeisance at Dera Sachkhand Ballan. Former Ludhiana MP and Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu confirmed the visit. He said the Prime Minister will arrive in Punjab around 4 pm after attending the budget session.

It is noteworthy that Sant Niranjan Das Ji of Dera Sachkhand Ballan was recently selected for the Padma Shri award on January 25. Following this, the Prime Minister's visit holds special significance.

Political analysts also view the Prime Minister's visit as a step toward increasing the BJP's activism in the Doaba region ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections in 2027. It is believed that the BJP, recognizing this region as strategically important, is moving to strengthen its hold here.

However, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu denied any political connection to the visit, stating that it was of religious and social significance. He said that religious gatherings are held at Dera Sachkhand Ballan throughout the year, and the Prime Minister's visit is part of that tradition.
