Priest's son shot dead in Punjab court complex, gang rivalry suspected

Fazilka (The Uttam Hindu) : Panic gripped Fazilka, Punjab, when the son of a temple priest was murdered. The attackers opened fire on the man inside the court complex in Abohar.
According to reports, the deceased was Golu Pandit, son of Avnish Pandit, priest of the Jodi Temple in Abohar. The incident has created an atmosphere of terror in the entire area. According to Fazilka SSP Gurmeet Singh, Golu Pandit had arrived at the court for a hearing in an Arms Act case when assailants in a white car opened fire on him. Pandit's friend Sonu and several others were also present. According to the SSP, initial investigations have revealed that rivalry between gangs may be a factor in the murder.
The SSP stated that Golu had six to seven cases against him and was currently out on bail. Police also stated that the attackers have been identified and strict action will be taken in this case.
