Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): PSPCL authorities clarified that no consumer is denied a new connection simply because they are unable to apply online on their own. To assist consumers, dedicated help desks have already been established, including in Mohali and Zirakpur divisions, where PSPCL staff facilitate both the online submission of applications as well as provide full support to those who are unable to navigate the digital process independently.

Consumers visiting PSPCL offices are guided and assisted by help desk personnel who either help them apply online themselves or apply on their behalf entirely free of cost. The objective of this process is to enhance transparency, eliminate middlemen, and prevent exploitation of new applicants.

Moreover, in line with the latest Supply Code 2024 issued by honourable PSERC, it is now mandatory to submit a test report for all domestic supply (DS) connections, regardless of load. Earlier, such reports were not required for loads up to 20 kW. PSPCL is taking up the matter with the regulator for necessary review and relief in this regard.

Er. Inderpal Singh Director Distribution stated that, to ensure consumer protection, any complaints related to corruption can be reported directly to PSPCL through WhatsApp on the number: 96461-75770 or online through a dedicated portal https://grms.pspcl.in. He further stated that for every online application submitted, a special SMS link is sent to the consumer, enabling them to directly report any instance of corruption or harassment faced during the process. Strict action will be taken against any individual found involved in any malpractices. Consumers can also reach out to PSPCL Helpdesk on 1912@pspcl.in, fb.com/PSPCLPb, x.com/PSPCLPb, instagram.com/PSPCLPb or through WhatsApp on 96461-06835.
