PSPCL's Zirakpur circle inaugurated: A new era in power services begins in Punjab

Zirakpur(The Uttam Hindu): The office of the newly created Zirakpur Circle of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) was formally inaugurated on 02.01.2026 by Er. R. K. Mittal, Chief Engineer, South Zone, Patiala, in the gracious presence of Hon’ble MLA, Dera Bassi, Shri Kuljeet Singh Randhawa, Er. Amandeep Singh Gill, Superintending Engineer, along with other senior officers and dignitaries of PSPCL.

The creation of Zirakpur Circle was approved by the Hon’ble Board of Directors (BOD) of PSPCL in its 116th meeting held on 02.09.2025. The newly constituted circle comprises DS Division Zirakpur and DS Division Lalru, with the primary objective of enhancing consumer convenience and improving service delivery.

Earlier, consumers of these divisions were required to approach Mohali for departmental works, resulting in increased travel time and inconvenience. With the establishment of the Zirakpur Circle, accessibility to services will significantly improve, leading to faster grievance redressal and more efficient administrative functioning.

While addressing the gathering, Er. R. K. Mittal, Chief Engineer, South Zone, Patiala, highlighted the multiple benefits of the new circle for both consumers and employees of PSPCL, emphasizing improved operational efficiency and strengthened field-level monitoring.

In his address, Hon’ble MLA, Dera Bassi, Shri Kuljeet Singh Randhawa, expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann, Hon’ble Power Minister, Shri Sanjeev Arora, and Shri Basant Garg, CMD, PSPCL, for their support in the creation of the Zirakpur Circle. He assured that consumer services would witness significant improvement and reiterated the commitment towards ensuring uninterrupted and reliable power supply to all consumers.
