Punjab: Bomb scare at Ferozepur District Court triggers panic, police rush to spot; premises evacuated

Ferozepur (The Uttam Hindu): Panic broke out on Tuesday morning after information about a bomb at the Ferozepur District Court complex came to light. As soon as the alert was received, the police administration acted swiftly and evacuated the entire court premises. According to available information, an unknown person sent an email warning about a bomb to the court’s official email ID, following which security agencies were put on high alert.
On receiving the information, SP Detective Manjit Singh and SP Headquarters Dharam Veer Singh reached the spot along with a police force. The police cordoned off the court complex from all sides and launched a thorough search operation. Keeping any potential threat in mind, all courtrooms, corridors and surrounding areas are being carefully checked. A dog squad has also been deployed to detect any suspicious object.
Due to the evacuation of the premises, judicial work was affected for some time. Lawyers, court staff and members of the public were safely moved out of the complex. Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the site, and no one is being allowed to enter the premises without proper checking.
SP Detective Manjit Singh said that the entire operation is being carried out as part of routine security measures. He added that the situation is fully under control and further details will be shared only after the completion of the investigation. Police are examining the matter from all angles to rule out any threat or rumor.
