Anandpur Sahib (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav visited Anandpur Sahib on Wednesday to review the security, facilities, and traffic management arrangements for the 350th martyrdom anniversary events of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Sharing the update on social media platform ‘X’, DGP Yadav said he reviewed the preparedness for security, convenience, and traffic control on the occasion of the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. He directed all supervisory officers to maintain the highest standards of efficiency and empathy.

He added that a coordinated security and crowd-management plan has been implemented, with adequate deployment of personnel at key points to ensure smooth and safe movement of devotees. Smart surveillance systems and real-time traffic monitoring have been activated to support ground teams and maintain uninterrupted flow.

The DGP said officers have been instructed to work with sensitivity and respect towards the sanctity of the occasion. Help desks, facilitation centers, and monitoring dashboards have been set up to provide a seamless experience for devotees. He reiterated that Punjab Police is committed to serving with respect, discipline, and compassion.

A grand three-day commemorative event will be held in Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25, with lakhs of devotees expected from across the world. The entire area has been systematically divided into 25 sectors for efficient management. He added that to ensure smooth traffic movement and reduce inconvenience, the district police, in partnership with IIT Ropar, has launched real-time digital mapping to guide visitors and assist in traffic regulation.
