Gangster Bhagwanpuria's Mother and Bodyguard Shot Dead, Bambiha Gang Claims Responsibility
Gurdaspur (Uttam Hindu News): The horrific face of bloody gang war has once again come to the fore in the crime world of Punjab. Harjeet Kaur (52), mother of notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and his bodyguard Karanveer Singh (29) were shot dead in Batala of Gurdaspur district. This sensational incident took place late Thursday night, when both of them were going somewhere in a car.
Gangster Bhagwanpuria's mother and bodyguard shot dead, henchmen associated with Bambiha gang took responsibility : Bike- borne assailants suddenly opened fire on their car. Karanveer died on the spot, while Harjeet Kaur was hit by six bullets. She was taken to hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared her dead. CCTV footage of the attack has also surfaced, which the police have included in the investigation. According to the police, in the initial investigation, the target of the attack was Karanveer Singh, who allegedly handled the illegal operations of gangster Jaggu. He not only looked after Jaggu's weapons and money, but was also involved in many important operations of the gang.
Two notorious gangsters of Haryana belonging to the Bambiha gang have claimed responsibility for this by posting on social media. The police is linking this incident to an internal gang war, because Jaggu has been active in the world of crime in Punjab for a long time. He has had clashes with many rival gangs.
Two notorious gangsters of Haryana, Prabhu Dasuwal and Kaushal Chaudhary, have posted on social media. They wrote, "Sat Shri Akaal to my true warrior. I, Doni Bal Billa Manga, Prabhu Dasuwal and Kaushal Chaudhary, take responsibility for the murder of Karan in Batala." They claimed that this murder was done in revenge because Karanveer played an important role in the killing of their associate Gore Baryad. The post further read, "Today we have committed a legitimate murder. If any of our brothers dies illegitimately in future, be ready to pay for it."
After the incident, the police cordoned off the area and started searching for the accused. This double murder is being linked to internal gang war. The police is also investigating whether the attackers got help from any local gang. Jaggu Bhagwanpuria's name is counted among the most notorious gangsters of Punjab. Many serious cases like murder, ransom, arms smuggling and gang war are registered against him. He has had an old conflict with the Bambiha gang, and this murder is being considered a part of the same rivalry.
