Punjab Government Orders Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle, Transfers 17 IAS and PCS Officers

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): In a major administrative reshuffle, the Punjab Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 17 IAS and PCS officers across the state with immediate effect. The orders were issued on Friday by the Department of Personnel on the directions of the Governor of Punjab.

According to the official notification, senior IAS officers Alok Shekhar and Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari have been reassigned important roles. Alok Shekhar, Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Cooperation), will also hold the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, relieving Krishan Kumar, IAS, of the additional charge. Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari has been posted as Additional Chief Secretary-cum-Financial Commissioner (Excise) and will also serve as Additional Chief Secretary, Good Governance & Information Technology. He replaces Vikas Pratap, IAS, in this role.

Basant Garg, IAS, has been given the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Horticulture and Soil & Water Conservation, replacing Mohammad Tayyab, IAS.

Among PCS officers, Smt. Amandeep Kaur-II has been transferred as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development), Amritsar, in place of Amit Sareen. Amit Sareen, PCS, has been moved as Joint Secretary, Defence Services Welfare.

Other notable postings include:

Smt. Jyoti Bala, PCS, will now be Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Hoshiarpur.

Rohit Gupta, PCS, becomes Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Amritsar.

Amandeep Kaur Ghuman, PCS, will take over as Regional Transport Officer, Hoshiarpur.

Sanjeev Kumar, PCS, has been posted as Sub Divisional Magistrate, Lopoke.

Upinderjeet Kaur Brar, PCS, will serve as SDM Raikot.

The orders direct all transferred officers to immediately join their new places of posting. Officers without a new posting have been instructed to report to the Secretary, Personnel, and will receive further orders separately.

Officials say the reshuffle is aimed at improving administrative efficiency and ensuring effective delivery of services in key departments and districts.
