Punjab government unveils 2026 festival calendar – full list of public holidays inside

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab government has released an official calendar of public holidays for the year 2026. Following the implementation of this calendar, all government departments, corporation offices, educational institutions, schools, and colleges in the state will observe holidays on designated dates.

January 2026 includes only one public holiday. Republic Day falls on January 26th, which this time falls on a Monday. February 2026 also has two public holidays: Shri Guru Ravidas Jayanti on February 1st and Mahashivratri on February 15th, although both fall on Sundays. March and April 2026 have the highest number of holidays, with five government holidays each.
