Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu) : The Punjab government further strengthened the Education Department by handing over appointment letters to 606 newly appointed employees. A grand ceremony was held at the Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh, where Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann presented the appointment letters to the newly appointed employees and congratulated them on their new responsibilities.

The Chief Minister said that this is not just a job, but a responsibility to shape the future of society and future generations. He congratulated all newly appointed employees on the New Year and a new beginning.

These 606 appointments include 385 special educators and 8 principals

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and senior department officials were also present on the occasion.

"Not to take credit, but to build connections."

Chief Minister Mann said the purpose of the program wasn't to take credit, but to establish direct communication between officers and employees. He added that unfortunately, those who were supposed to write appointment letters earlier spent their time only on their favorites. "You all are part of my family. Just as I feel happy when a family member gets a job, I feel the same joy for you all today," CM Mann said.

A separate cadre has been created for special needs children

CM Mann stated that a separate cadre had to be created to recruit teachers for children with special needs. He added that these children face difficulties in speaking, hearing, and understanding, and sometimes even their parents are unable to care for them. The role of special educators is crucial in guiding these children in the right direction.

"A great man is one whose children are educated"

The Chief Minister said that in the future, rich people will not be those who own expensive cars or bank lockers, but rather those whose children are educated. He said that history bears witness that the palaces of those who only make money remain empty.

CM Mann cited examples of discipline from foreign countries, noting that there is a point system for driving licenses, and a person's traffic record is also reviewed when applying for a job. Similarly, in Punjab, teachers' work and behavior records are being evaluated to maintain the quality of education.

Participation of all teachers in national festivals:

The Chief Minister stated that teachers from all cadres, including temporary teachers, will now be included in government celebrations on January 26 and August 15. This was not the case previously, but now everyone is being given equal respect.

Learning to live in the present

CM Mann said that people often forget to be happy in the present. Life should be lived as a celebration, not a burden. Positive thinking and a happy environment are the foundation of a healthy society.

The Chief Minister pledged to increase the education budget, stating that Delhi spends 26-27 percent of its budget on education. The Punjab government will also ensure a larger budget for education, ensuring a better future for future generations.

Education according to children's interests:

CM Mann said that children should be given the opportunity to pursue their interests. Those who aspire to excel in sports should be given a platform, and those interested in literature or the arts should be encouraged in that direction. This will strengthen the foundation of Punjab and the country.
