Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu)- A cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann at his official residence in Chandigarh on Tuesday. After the meeting, CM Mann said that the land pooling policy has been made in favor of the farmers. Farmers are supporting it.


In the cabinet meeting, the government has decided regarding the land pooling policy that in land pooling, the government will give 1 lakh rupees annually to the farmers till they are given possession of the plot. If there is a delay in this, then this amount will be increased by 10 percent every year. At the same time, till the area is not developed, the farmers will be able to do farming on it. He said that the opposition is spreading rumors that wherever the notification is done, the registry will be stopped there.


CM said that the land pooling notification will not stop the registry. When farmers and stakeholders were talked to about the land pooling policy, they have given some suggestions. CM Mann said that now it has been amended in the policy that till the project does not start on the land taken from the farmer, the farmer can do farming on that land. After the government takes possession of the land, the compensation will increase by one lakh rupees per acre and ten percent every year. Under the land pooling policy, the government will give one lakh rupees annually to the farmer till he gets the plot. During the Congress government, 20 thousand were given. The rent given to the farmer has been increased five times. A cheque of 50 thousand will also be given on agreeing to join the scheme.


Bumper announcements have been made for farmers in the land pooling scheme. The rent of Rs 1 lakh received by the farmer will increase by 10 percent every year. CM Mann said that if the farmer does not want to take commercial land, then it will be increased three times and a residential plot will be provided. After issuing the letter of intent on the land, the farmer will also be able to get a loan from the bank. There are 48 thousand acres in Haryana and a colony has been built on only 25 thousand acres in Punjab. CM Mann answered the question of SGPC whether they have taken copyright.
