Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab’s Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister, Gurmeet Singh Khuddian, announced on Tuesday that the Punjab Mandi Board has established a control room to ensure seamless paddy procurement during the ongoing purchase season. The control room will help promptly address issues faced by farmers, traders, and laborers across the state’s grain markets.

The minister said four dedicated officers have been assigned to the control room, working in two teams from 8 AM to 8 PM daily, to provide continuous support and assistance based on situational needs. This initiative aims to ensure that no stakeholder faces inconvenience during the critical procurement period.

Khuddian explained that farmers and other stakeholders can reach the control room at 0172-5101649 and 0172-5101704. The facility will provide real-time updates on procurement, improve coordination among agencies, and ensure smooth management in mandis across Punjab. The control room will act as an active command center, offering a direct line for resolving issues related to logistics, payments, or mandi facilities efficiently.
