Punjab on Edge: Businessman's house targeted in brazen gunfire attack, Rs 5 crore ransom demanded

Ludhiana (The Uttam Hindu): A sensational incident took place in Ludhiana, Punjab on Sunday. Two bike-borne criminals opened fire at the home of a real estate businessman. Fifteen rounds of gunfire were fired, shattering the glass of the home's balcony. The criminals fled the scene after the incident.
Police also recovered a threatening note at the scene, which read "Kailash Chaudhary Group - 5 Crore." Businessman Nand Lal, who retired from the Army as a Subedar in 2006, immediately informed the police. Upon receiving the information, Sadar police station and senior officers arrived at the scene. The area has been cordoned off and CCTV footage is being examined. The miscreants who opened fire have not yet been identified.
Businessman demands security
Nand Lal said he was at home with a relative at the time while his family was in Rajasthan for Diwali. He said, "Fifteen empty cartridges and one live bullet were recovered from the scene. I have no connection to anyone named Kailash Chaudhary. I have requested police protection until the matter is resolved."
