Punjab police kills AAP Sarpanch's murderer, linked to foreign gangster Dasuwal in encounter

Tarn Taran (The Uttam Hindu) : Police have killed a gangster accused in the murder of AAP Sarpanch Jarmal Singh in Amritsar in an encounter. According to police, notorious gangster Harnoor Singh was killed in the encounter in Tarn Taran district. Harnoor Singh was accused of being involved in the conspiracy behind the Sarpanch's murder.
Police officials said that on Tuesday, a joint team of the Tarn Taran CIA and the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) conducted a search operation in the Bhikhiwind area based on intelligence. During the operation, an attempt was made to stop a suspect, Harnoor Singh, who was traveling on a motorcycle. According to DIG Sneha Deep Sharma, upon sensing police presence, the suspect abandoned the motorcycle and opened fire on police while attempting to flee. Police returned fire in self-defense, seriously injuring Harnoor Singh.
Died in hospital, pistol recovered
During the encounter, a policeman was shot, but survived due to his bulletproof jacket. The injured accused was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A pistol was also recovered from the spot. According to the police, Harnoor Singh was a resident of Kathunangal area of Amritsar and was actively working for the Prabha Dassuwal-Afridi gang. Preliminary investigation has revealed that he had conducted recce before the murder of Sarpanch Jarmal Singh. Teams of Tarn Taran and Amritsar police are jointly investigating his role in the murder.
