Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Punjab's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​achieved a major success in a joint operation with the SAS Nagar police. During the joint operation, police arrested two associates of gangster Goldy Dhillon (associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang) operating from foreign bases. The arrested individuals were identified as Sharanjit Singh and Aman Kumar.

Chandigarh, Nov 12 (IANS) Punjab's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​achieved a major success in a joint operation with the SAS Nagar police. During the joint operation, the police arrested two associates of gangster Goldy Dhillon (associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang) operating from a foreign base. The arrested individuals were identified as Sharanjit Singh and Aman Kumar.

The operation took place near the Ghaggar Bridge on the Ambala-Derabassi Highway, where an encounter broke out between police and the accused. According to police, the two accused opened fire on police in an attempt to escape and were injured in retaliatory fire. Two .32-bore pistols and 10 live cartridges were recovered from the scene. Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav announced the operation on the social media platform X.

DGP Gaurav Yadav wrote in the post, “Achieving a major success, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) ​​Punjab in a joint operation with SAS Nagar Police foiled a gangster's plot and arrested two henchmen – Sharanjit Singh and Aman Kumar – of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, linked to foreign gangster Goldy Dhillon, after a shootout at Ghaghar bridge on the Ambala-Derabassi highway.”

The DGP said that during the operation, the accused opened fire on the police team in an attempt to escape and were injured in the retaliatory fire. Preliminary investigations indicate that the two men, who were involved in the recent Rajpura shooting, were tasked by Goldy Dhillon to target a businessman from Punjab. Two .32-caliber pistols and 10 live cartridges were recovered.

DGP Yadav further said in the X post, “Punjab Police is steadfast in its mission to dismantle the gangster network and ensure peace and security across Punjab.”
