Punjab Schools Shut for 4 Days Due to Heavy Rains - Govt Order

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Due to continuous heavy rains, the Punjab government has issued an order to keep all the government schools in the state closed from August 27 to August 30.

The government says that heavy rains have been falling in the state for the last few days and heavy rains are predicted for a few more days. Due to which a decision has been taken to keep all the schools closed in the state. As per the government order, primary, secondary, senior secondary government and private schools in the state will remain closed for four days.

The district administration said that the situation created by the rain is being constantly monitored throughout the district. All the teams are active and keeping in view the 48

hour warning issued by the Meteorological Department, vigilance is being maintained 24 hours a day.
