A committee formed by the Assembly will soon submit its report, following which further action will be taken. This information was provided by Aam Aadmi Party Joint Secretary Baltej Pannu. Jathedar Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has urged the government to enact a strict law against those who commit sacrilege.

Punjab to soon enact law on sacrilege, committee to submit report to Assembly: AAP Joint Secretary Pannu said, "Our government has been serious about this issue from the beginning. Furthermore, the state's own law on sacrilege will be introduced soon. This bill was introduced on July 15th, and its six-month term ends on January 15th."

It should be noted that on July 15, 2025, the Punjab government drafted a new bill to prevent sacrilege. The cabinet approved it and presented it in the Assembly.
