Raja Warring’s Casteist Remarks Reveal Their Leaders' Feudal Mindset: Harpal Singh Cheema

Tarn Taran/Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leader and Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema strongly condemned Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring for his casteist remarks against late Dalit leader and former Union Minister Buta Singh. He was leading a protest against him in Tarn Taran where AAP leaders gheraoed Congress office and burnt an effigy of Raja Warring amid slogans of 'Raja Warring Haye Haye' and 'Congress Murdabad.'
Cheema said Warring’s statement has not only insulted the Dalit community but also exposed the deeply ingrained feudal and discriminatory mindset of the Congress party.
“Raja Warring’s words are an insult to the poor, to Dalits, and to the ideals of Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,” said Harpal Singh Cheema. “This is not just an individual slip of tongue, this is the reflection of Congress’s real face. The party that claims to stand for equality has always practiced caste-based discrimination and treated Dalits as inferior.”
Cheema added that Congress’s “Rajwada Shahi” mentality continues to dominate its politics, where leaders look down upon the poor and marginalized. “The truth is, Congress’s DNA is anti-Dalit,” he said. “The party is filled with leaders who harbor caste bias and oppose social equality.”
Questioning the Congress high command’s silence, Cheema asked, “Will the Congress leadership take any action against its state president for such a shameful and casteist statement, or will they continue to protect him?”
Cheema reiterated that the Aam Aadmi Party stands firmly with the Dalit community and will continue to fight for dignity, equality, and social justice in Punjab and across India.
