Rupnagar (The Uttam Hindu): In a bid to maintain law and order in Rupnagar district, District Magistrate Varjeet Walia has imposed several strict bans and restrictions. These measures aim to prevent untoward incidents and ensure public safety.

Ban on Weapons in Marriage Palaces

The district magistrate has imposed a complete ban on bringing weapons and firing in marriage palaces. This decision comes after it was observed that people often bring weapons to ceremonies and fire in the air, posing a risk to public safety.

Information about Strangers to be Shared with Police

The district magistrate has also ordered hotel, dhaba, liquor shop, landlord, agricultural farm, factory, and restaurant owners to provide information about strangers or new tenants to the nearest police station or outpost. This measure aims to prevent any potential threats to public safety.

Hookah Bars Banned

The operation of Hookah Bars has been completely banned in Rupnagar district, following orders from the Punjab government. Those found violating this ban will face legal action under the COTPA Act.

Restrictions on Sale of Semen

The district magistrate has imposed a complete ban on the unauthorized storage, transportation, use, or sale of semen in Rupnagar district. This measure aims to prevent the sale of fake or unauthorized semen.

No Drone Zone Declared

The area around National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) in Nangal has been declared a "No Drone Zone" due to security concerns. A complete ban has been imposed on the operation or flying of drones, paragliders, powered-hang gliders, micro light aircraft, and air balloons in this area.

Ban on Drone Use near District Jail

The use of drones has also been banned within 500 meters of the boundary of District Jail Rupnagar. This measure aims to prevent potential security breaches and maintain law and order.

Ban on Display of Weapons and Hate Speeches

A complete ban has been imposed on the public display of weapons in Rupnagar district, including on social media. Additionally, carrying weapons or sharp-edged weapons in educational institutions, marriages, and other functions is strictly prohibited.

Strict Action against China Thread

The district magistrate has imposed a complete ban on the purchase, sale, storage, or use of China thread for kite flying in the district. Those found violating this ban will face strict legal action.

These measures aim to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in Rupnagar district. The district administration is committed to taking strict action against those who violate these bans and restrictions.
