Sampla family likely to be BJP’s choice for Chabbewal by-election

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu News) : Former Union Minister of State and Chairman of SC Commision Mr.Vijay Sampla’s family is likely to be saffron party’s choice for Chabbewal by-election. The party high command has approached Sampla in last couple of days in this regard. It has been learnt that former SC commision chairman has denied contesting himself to which high command has given him a choice to field his son Sahil or nephew Ashu Sampla. A formal announcement is expected immediately once the Sampla family takes the final call.
Sources say party was earlier considering former union minister Som Parkash but he denied contesting the seat on health grounds.
Vijay Sampla is one of the biggest SC faces of BJP in Punjab. He had won the hoshiarpur Loksabha seat in 2014 in which Chabbewal is one of the assembly constituency. His son Sahil Sampla is spokesperson of party in the state whereas his nephew Ashu Sampla has been active in BJYM since last many years.
In Chabbewal, it is going to be an interesting contest. Whereas Congress has fielded District Bar Association president Ranjit Kumar. Ranjit, had contested the last parliamentary elections on the BSP ticket, had ‘secretly’ joined the Congress about a week ago. Former minister Sunder Sham Arora had played an instrumental role in his joining the party.
