Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): A case of death threats issued to Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria through internet media has come to light. However, no formal complaint has been filed by the Governor so far, and he has declined to comment on the matter.

A social media post surfaced in the name of Raj Shekhawat, national president of Kshatriya Karni Sena, which used objectionable and violent language against Governor Kataria. The post allegedly stated: “Stay within your limits, Gulabchand… Karni soldiers, kill him wherever and whenever you find him.” Police have taken the matter seriously and initiated an investigation.

Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal said the issue is under police notice, and the viral social media post is being examined. Authorities are trying to identify which account made the post and under what circumstances. Police are also probing whether there was any conspiracy or intent to disturb law and order behind the threat.

It may be noted that on December 22, during a programme held in Gogunda, Governor Gulabchand Kataria made a statement related to Maharana Pratap and his reign, which later triggered controversy. The current threat is being viewed in the backdrop of that incident.
