Stopping Students from Appearing in Exams due to their Religious Symbols is Blatant Injustice towards Minorities: Dr. Nijjar

Chandigarh(The Uttam Hindu): Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Head of Chief Khalsa Diwan and Aam Aadmi Party MLA, strongly condemned the recent incident in Rajasthan, where a Sikh girl student from Tarn Taran was barred from appearing in the Rajasthan Judicial Services Examination because she was wearing her religious symbol - Kakkar.
Dr. Nijjar stated that we are citizens of a free country and every individual has the right to live according to their religion and wear religious symbols. He said that this incident is a direct violation of religious and constitutional rights and has deeply hurt the sentiments of minority communities.
He appealed to the Central Government to ensure that Sikh students are allowed to appear in examinations while wearing their religious symbols so that such incidents do not occur again in the future.
Dr. Nijjar also demanded that the Sikh student who was barred from appearing in the exam be given a chance to reappear under special arrangements, she deserves justice and equal opportunity.
