Ludhiana (The Uttam Hindu): Due to heavy rains, the water released from Bhakra Dam has increased the flow of water in the Satluj river, while the water level is also continuously rising. The Satluj dam near village Sasrali Colony under Sahnewal assembly constituency is on the verge of breaking, its condition is very critical, in view of which while the administration has been struggling to strengthen the dam for the last several days, the army and other teams are handling the front. The district administration has also informed the army and internally the people of the surrounding villages have also been asked to take care of their animals.

The district administration remained busy strengthening the dam till late night. If the water of Sutlej increases further, the risk of flood may increase in 14 villages of Ludhiana. Water may reach Rahon Road, Tibba Road, Tajpur Road, Noorwala Road and Samrala Chowk. There is also a possibility of waterlogging in Dhanansu area of ​​Sahnewal, due to which more than 50 thousand people may be affected. Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain inspected the work of strengthening the Dhussi Dam in Sasrali. During this, he appealed not to pay attention to rumors. The administration, Indian Army, NDRF and villagers are working here round the clock. The danger of flood still persists in the Ghaggar river flowing near the border of Punjab and Haryana. With the help of the army, the administration has strengthened the weakened Ghaggar embankment near Harchandpura village.

The water level in Ramdas, adjacent to Ravi in ​​Amritsar, has started receding. Water has receded or has reduced significantly from 70% of the area. There is almost no chance of rain in Amritsar for the next 5 days. In view of this, the work of repairing the broken Dhussi dam of Ravi river has started. Meanwhile, today the Indian Army saved the life of a 60-year-old man in a rescue operation.
